Hi, I'm Steve. I make music with guitars and vocals and drums and keyboards and loops and more.

Taking inspiration from folk, metal, pop, indie, electronic and almost every other corner of the musical spectrum; I write music to connect with the mind and soul.

Throughout the years I’ve played in various bands, typically alternating between guitar, vocals and drums, before venturing out on my own as a solo artist under the moniker ‘Steve and the Sea’. Under this name I have released singles and EPs that have been warmly received by a small but dedicated fanbase around the world.

Hypnotic and entrancing with a stop-you-in-your-tracks vocal

Watching Steve work is inspiring...Whether Steve is simply playing his guitar and singing, or building tunes from the bass loop up, he is captivating

Kerrin & McCarthy

Vivien Kerrin and I first met shortly after I moved to Hamburg and came together to write a folk song about a space telescope. Since then, we have been building up our live presence across Hamburg, playing shows at Harburg Fischahalle and Hafenbahnhof.

Our music takes inspiration from traditional folk, Americana, and songwriters of the 60s.

It’s a beautiful exploration and unlike anything you’ve ever heard. Give it a spin and enjoy the adventure.

Ear to the Ground Music

More than just music.

When I’m not plucking strings I’m pushing pixels. I make my own music videos and art work, and I do the same for many other amazing musicians too!

If you’re in need of a music video, visualiser, live visuals, album art work, posters or just about anything else, let’s work together. Music is my greatest inspiration, and I am always excited to work with other musicians, artists, managers and labels on new creative projects.

A pattern of sharks printed for the Steve and the Sea EP titled 'Stay Dry, Stay Warm'. The sharks are a mix of hammerhead sharks and other sharks, arranged in a tight formation, printed in blue on white. Between the sharks there are marks left from the lino which was used to print it.
A screenshot from the animated music video for 'I Am' by A-Tota-So. A low-poly deer stands in the middle of a lush green forest, with flowers and tall grass at its feet. The deer appears to be looking at a small orb of light.
