I wrote this back in May 2020. We'd gone into lockdown and I was stuck home alone for 3 months while my partner was over in Germany. It's the most isolated I've ever been. The only company I had was a seagull who was regularly landing on my window ledge (and one time a pigeon flew into my kitchen too but that seemed less voluntary).

Anyway, I started feeding this seagull just so I could interact with *something* other than the self checkout in Waitrose.Anyway, turns out seagulls make for shit friends, but great inspiration for a song (hence the albatross rather than the seagull). This little one will always remind me of those times, looking out my window and watching the sun shine down on a vacant and silent city, wondering just what the hell was going on.

Looking back, it feels strange to think of a time when all this was strange.

My second EP, written and recorded 2019-2020. "Home" covers a time in my life where I have found myself trying to identify where - or what - "Home" really is, and by sheer coincidence, was released at a time when all of us are stuck in our own homes.

Sleep Now is the lead single of my third EP "Home". The song was inspired by a cat in Uruguay. I created the video myself too!

I first went to 2000 Trees Festival back in 2010 with a big group of friends because it was the only place I’d be able to see bands like ASIWYFA, Maybeshewill, Tubelord, Future of the Left and a whole bunch of others all in one place. Eventually the same people made ArcTanGent, and while that came to become my favourite festival, 2000 Trees still holds a special place in my heart.

It was back in 2013 that I bumped into a group of campers by the name of ‘Camp Kev’, and it was by pure chance that in 2014 me and my friend Woody (we’d sworn this was the last time we were going as the rest of the group had picked ArcTanGent and sadly didn’t have the time/money to do both) bumped into them again. That year we swore we’d be back in 2015 to see them all again, and we’ll do the same this year.

Anyway, after I got home last year I wrote a song about how awesome it was to head down to this festival and see all these people that I otherwise would never get to see. This group of total strangers who somehow became great friends (I think it was the mix of sun and booze). They accepted us in as one of their own and now it’s like we’re some kind of initiated cult. We ride together.

The song is twee and folky, which isn’t really what I do any more but I didn’t share it at the time.

"Stay Dry, Stay Warm" was my second EP, written, recorded and produced entirely alone at home. It was an endeavour and a learning process to delve into my own ideas and bring them to life. It features what are still some of my favourite tracks.

The EP was released on limited edition hand printed CDs, along with t-shirts, hoodies and posters.
